On Wednesday, May 27, 12 seniors graduated from Joy El’s 4.12 Leadership Training Program. There was great celebration of what God has done in the students’ lives.
I found myself reminiscing about the last five years.
Not everyone who entered five years ago made it to graduation. I wish everyone did. There is a lot of work to finish this program. The students who made it to the end learned how to thrive through the “thick and thin” – the difficult times as junior counselors, or the stretching times working in the kitchen, or leading other students in the program.
Those who finished developed and exhibited an increased:
* Commitment to serving others
* Desire to pursue personal growth
* Passion to learn from godly biblical counsel as expressed through their mentors
* Biblical worldview
Each one had been given and responded to leadership roles. Joy El provides many leadership roles for teens.
I am excited to see how God will use these students to impact many people in their influence. It has been my and the Joy El team’s pleasure to grow with them.
May they continue to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, so that all these things may be added to them (Matthew 6:33).
