CIA is a great place for middle schoolers to build strong, close friendships with other like-minded teens. Students involved in CIA will gain an understanding of God’s Word and why it’s important for today, and specifically how it applies to their lives personally.
CIA students learn how to pray, how to study the Bible and how to have daily devotions. They also learn how to share their faith with others.
The unique community in CIA provides students with an opportunity to discuss real-life issues with caring friends and adult leaders. It also gives students a safe place to ask spiritual questions and to seek answers to those questions.
CIA meetings take place weekly. Students are legally dismissed from public school classes with the permission of their parents. Classes are held off school property and transportation is provided by adult Joy El volunteers. Some CIA classes offer an after-school program in addition or in place of the in-school program.
There is no cost for any student to participate in CIA. All students are eligible and welcome, but must have parental permission. Registered students must continue to attend unless a parent provides written notice of withdrawal to the CIA staff.
